Private String Lessons in North Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
What age can my child start lessons?
We can begin teaching students as young as age 5. Pricing and lesson length are discussed individually since they can vary by student — feel free to submit a lesson inquiry and we'll work out the details with your instructor directly.
Does my student need to own an instrument first?
Not necessarily — you're welcome to purchase or rent from a local shop, or rent directly through ParkNa Studio. Our on-site rental stock is limited, so if you'd like to rent from us, it's best to reach out as soon as possible after your inquiry. (Or leave a note in the inquiry form if you need one)
How much do lessons cost?
Pricing is discussed individually with your instructor, since lesson length and format can vary by student. Submit an inquiry and we'll go over it together.
Can we switch between in-person and online lessons if our schedule changes?
Yes. If an in-person lesson doesn't fit your week, we'd rather move it online than skip it entirely — staying consistent week to week matters more than the format.
Is Flex Coaching included with lessons, or is it separate?
Flex Coaching is a separate offering from weekly lessons.
How does the fine arts credit documentation actually work?
We track lesson hours and progress and provide a written summary at the end of each semester. You decide how that fits into your own homeschool records — we're happy to format it however your umbrella school or co-op requires.
Is there a trial lesson?
Yes — after you submit an inquiry, your instructor will reach out to schedule a one-time trial lesson. This gives your instructor a chance to see where your student is technically so lessons can be planned specifically around them, and it's also a great low-pressure way for you and your student to meet the instructor first.
